THE BIO

Ashley Wilburn is a native of Hagerstown in Maryland. She graduated from North Hagerstown High School where she received her secondary education. Ashley Wilburn's legal career is focused on family law. She has a passion for it. She focuses a majority of her practice on divorce cases, alimony disputes, divorce property distribution, child custody battles, child support arrangements, postnuptial and prenuptial agreements, enforcement and post-divorce issues, step-parent and private party adoptions and child welfare concerns. Ashley has been a court-appointed mediator since the year 2019. She assists parties to resolve their disputes without the necessity of litigation or court involvement. Ashley mediates private matters as well as court-appointed mediations for people who want to stay clear of court proceedings and litigation.

Ashley completed her undergraduate studies in History and Politics at Loyola University of Maryland. Then, she pursued her legal education through Western New England University School of Law. She graduated in 2013 and was ranked among the top 10 students of her class. Ashley was an editor at the Western New England Law Review during her time in law school. This was a sign of her dedication to scholarship and legal research.

Ashley began her clerkship career after she completed her law degree. She worked for renowned jurists from Connecticut and Maryland. She was fortunate enough to serve as a law assistant to the Honorable Richard A. Robinson at the Connecticut Appellate Court and the Honorable Elliott D. Prescott. In 2014, she returned to her home town of Hagerstown to serve as a clerk for the Honorable M. Ashley joined Poole & Kane P.A. in 2015 as an associate attorney. as an associate attorney. The primary goal of the firm was to represent the Washington County Department of Social Services in matters involving child welfare. Ashley's devoted efforts played a significant role in helping children who suffered neglect or abuse at children's parents or caregivers. Her commitment to social justice spanned beyond her legal profession as she actively served as a board member for the Washington County Human Trafficking Task Force working tirelessly to increase awareness of human trafficking in the tristate area.

In 2017, she became a founding member of Kane, Wilburn & Stone, P.A., where she developed her practice in the areas of family law such as divorce, child support, custody, and guardianships as well as estate planning - wills, trusts and powers of attorney, advance directive/healthcare proxy and mediation.

Ashley started Wilburn Law Office, LLC 2023, with the commitment to provide a personalized approach for every client's need.
